The Story of Haymate Australia
The founder of Haymate Australia, Andrew Martin, the eldest of five children to Ted and Claire Martin, moved to a property east of Keith, SA in 1968. Whist growing up Andrew he spent a lot of time on the family farm.
After attending Keith Area School for 10 Years, at the age of 16 Andrew started full time at the local Dalriada in the slaughter floor production. After 10 years of working at Dalriada, Andrew had the opportunity to buy a share of the business of which carried through for another 20 years.
In 2011 Andrew finished at Dalriada to find that thing that was missing. Andrew decided to help a friend with his painting business and his brother with his metal fabrication business whilst finding his feet.
Whilst finding his feet, Andrew found a real passion for metal fabrication. In 2015 he decided to work on a creation of his own, Haymate Australia. The company has grown steadily and become prominent for its high-quality custom metal workmanship and importance of community. The workshop started trading on Dugan Street, where it was found that with the current business ambitions and aspirations, Haymate Australia needed more space. In 2019, Andrew made the decision to upgrade his business to the current location on the forefront of the emerging industrial district, positioned on the Dukes highway and opened his business to existing and new customers.
The new location allowed the business to grow and continue the skilled applications of high attention to detail and high quality of work that Andrew had always been known for. Moving to the new location, granted more ability to start a prototype for the Haymate, whilst still fabricating previous metal fabrications, such as trays, canopies, trailer, as well as custom metal fabrication opportunities and general repairs for the community. Now with a staff of twelve, Haymate Australia aim on continuing the expansion of previous successes and innovation for future successes.
Since the creation of Haymate Australia, they have been proud sponsors of the Keith and Tintinara District Show, Keith Golf club and other community sports and events.
